Seedling number NB46. Parentage: ‘Pastelorama’ x Seidl seedling 79H14-1 (‘Archangel’ x ‘Blushing Princess’). Grown of seed purchased from William Seidl. First bloomed 2008, propagated since 2009. Produces large 8 inch (20cm) cream-yellow DOUBLE flowers with a soft inner glow of amber-pink. Stamens are sparse and embedded among the petals, the whole showing characteristics of flower-in-flower doubling. Petals are fluted, ruffled and notched multiple times each. Carpels are light green and stigmas are red. The substance of the flower is heavy, giving it great lasting qualities. Side buds, 1 or 2 per stem, prolong flowering. The 32 inch (81cm) stems lean, but do not meet the ground, even after rainfall. Foliage is deep green and heavy veining imparts an embossed look. Healthy foliage throughout the summer and well into fall. Plants are consistent growers and bloomers. Presumed tetraploid. Fertile pollen and seed. Pollinating the flowers can be challenging due to the heavy petalage obstructing stigmas and carpels, as well as these structures not being universally well-formed. Named for the light colored moon of Jupiter.
