Herbaceous plant with early blooms that are unusually bright and pure even for a red-flowered hybrid; flower size 14 cm (6 inches); the variety is made distinct by the poignant balance between the much-elevated, intensely-bright flowers and the elegantly slender, narrow-leafed, low bush beneath it, giving an overall effect that is at once minimalist and intense; pink carpels and stigmas; finely cut leaflets; height at maturity 80 cm (32 inches); a plant that beckons from afar.
