Seedling: Seidl #144. Parentage: ‘Sedona’ x ‘Autumn Harvest’. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Single to Semi-double flowers are peach with magenta flares. Notched petals are slightly ruffled. An unusual color that sometimes approaches a light orange though somewhat variable in from year to year. Magenta sheath, red stamens and light pink stigmas. Excellent dark green foliage with well dissected foliage that has very pointed ends. Stems are not particularly hardy to temperatures below -15°F (-26°C), but re-grow vigorously from basal buds to bloom the same spring. Pollen and seed fertility though viable seed is difficult (mostly soft seed). Bill Seidl believed that this plant might lead to more orange colored lutea hybrids in future generations.
