Meine zwei Paeonia kesrouanensis haben mich dieses Jahr mit einer Blüte beglückt. Die Pflanzen habe ich beim Jan Moors in Belgien gekauft. Die nächsten die blühen werden sind Paeonia – Coriacea Marokko.
Ich denke du wirst sicher Jan Moors kennen. Schade das man in GB bei Paul Christiansen nicht mehr kaufen kann. Viele Wildarten hatte ich vor dem Brexit dort gekauft. Dank auch an Liga Popova, sie hat mir auch Wildarten geschickt. Paeonia ruprechtiana mit sehr dunklem Laub habe ich auch in der Sammlung. Die Sendung im MDR ” Der Osten- Entdecke wo du lebst Tulpen und Pfingstrosen” wird auch auf YouTube zu sehen sein. Aktuell ist er noch nicht verfügbar.

Danke für die schnelle Antwort. Diese Nacht gibt es noch mal Frost und ich mache mir Sorgen das ich einige Blütenknospen einbüßen werde. Ich hatte mir vor Jahren 3x Jishanensis aus China schicken lassen. Habe alles ohne Pflanzenpapiere durch den Zoll bekommen und sie gedeihen sehr gut. Falls du Interesse hast könnte ich dir im Herbst ein oder zwei Pflanzen schicken. Die Ausläufer kommen an Stellen aus der Erde wo ich sie nicht haben möchte. Hatte von Mansaku (Pfingstrosengärtnerei) eine P. steveniana bekommen und genau dort sind jetzt Ausläufer von P. jishanensis. Aus Platzgründen beschäftige ich mich auch mit P. tenuifolia. Mir fehlt noch die weißgefüllte P. tenuifolia. Dieses Jahr werden Sämlinge mit hellgrünem Laub erstmalig blühen. Mal sehen was wird. Viele Grüße Ulf

Hello Ulf. Yes, I know Jan Moors, he doesn’t live too far from me actually. I’ve never met him in person, but we’ve been in contact often. I’ve also got Paeonia coriacea from Morocco from him, same thing here, not so far from flowering. What is conspicuous about it is that is has very pale green leaflets, much paler than all others. It was the same thing last year and all other plants next to it have it dark green (or their typical colour). So it doesn’t seem to be a nutrient deficiency and must be typical of this plant. I’m wondering whether your plant also has those pale green leaflets?
As to Paul Christiansen, I’ve also bought before, but I cannot say the plants were very successful, I don’t think I have one plant left of those. I don’t think I ever saw one of the flowering so I cannot comment on how ‘true’ they are. The very wet weather has run havoc amongst many peony plants here this Winter. Some will hopefully still grow, but most ‘good’ ones are already well above ground, so I do fear the losses this year will be considerable.
