Seedling C-88. SINGLE. Parentage: 80-K x ‘Crimson Classic’. An early herbaceous hybrid; single 6″ (15 cm) flowers of an intense medium pink; pale pink filaments shading pale green; green carpels with pink stigmata; pollen and seeds; 2-½” (5 cm) wide guards are slightly crinkled at edges. 39″ (100 cm) stems constitute a fine, well-proportioned, well-standing bush; the variety stands out in the opening phases of the peony season by virtue of the refreshing distinctness of its intensely-pigmented, clean-looking, well-presented blossoms. Named for an ancestor.
